Judoscale now supports Northflank
Your busiest hour shouldn’t set your compute bill for the whole day.
Judoscale is a dedicated autoscaling service for web applications and background workers. It now integrates with Northflank, with the same setup and scaling experience whether you run on Northflank Cloud or in your own cloud with BYOC.
Northflank already supports autoscaling on CPU, memory, requests per second, and custom Prometheus metrics. Judoscale adds more control over how that scaling behaves: how aggressively you add capacity, how patiently you scale back down, and visibility into the queues driving those decisions.
For web services, Judoscale can scale on request queue time, measuring how long requests wait before your application starts processing them. For background workers, it uses job queue latency, with support for systems including Sidekiq, Celery, and BullMQ.
As Judoscale founder Adam McCrea puts it:
“I’ll admit Northflank’s built-in autoscaler is no joke. So when should you reach for Judoscale? When you want a bit more control over how the scaling behaves in addition to what metric you watch. Judoscale lets you dial in how aggressively you scale up, how patiently you scale back down, and which signals you actually care about: request queue time for web traffic, job queue latency for Sidekiq, Celery, BullMQ, and friends.”
Comparing hosting costs? The Judoscale team has also added Northflank to their PaaS Pricing Calculator, so you can compare estimated costs for your workload across providers.
