Getting Started /

Create an account

As Northflank is currently in beta you can register your interest in an account on Northflank, or you can receive an invitation to create an account from the administrator of an existing team.

To create your account simply choose a username, enter your email address, and create a secure password. You will need to verify your email address before continuing.

Alternatively you can register with single-sign on (SSO) with your Google, GitHub, Bitbucket, or GitLab account.

When your account is verified you will be guided through the initial setup steps detailed below.

  1. Choose the theme you want to use on Northflank (this can be changed later in account settings).

  2. Link either your GitHub, Bitbucket, or GitLab account to your Northflank account to start building and deploying on Northflank immediately. If you prefer you can do this later from your account settings.

  3. Add a payment method, this can be either a debit or credit card. We require a payment method at sign up to verify that you are a real user. You will not be charged until you start consuming billable resources and you are able to create 2 free services to begin with to experiment with the platform.

  4. Create your first project. Projects on Northflank contain build and deployment services, jobs, databases, storage volumes, and secret groups which can create isolated networks with each other in the same project and can communicate without the need for public endpoints. You must select the region the project will be hosted in (this cannot be changed after you create your project).

You can follow the in-app onboarding, which can be found under the rocket button in the top-right of the Northflank app. They'll take you through all the basic steps to get up-and-running in no time, and you can also refer to the guides in this getting started section for step-by-step instructions.
